About Chara

Chara Christian Dance Company is an organization that seeks to proclaim God’s glory by knowing His word, growing together in faith, and using the gift of dance as a form of worship and ministry.

The name Chara comes from the Greek word meaning ‘Joy.’ We find joy in the opportunity to choreograph, rehearse, and perform a variety of genres of dance, all of which are Christ-centered and scripturally-based (Col 3:17). We find joy in the blessings of being witnesses for Christ and encouraging fellow believers through dancing at campus, community, and church-wide events (1 John 1:2-3). We find joy in the fellowship, accountability, and love we have amongst ourselves as we grow together in unity as sisters in Christ (Rom 15:5). Our vision and prayer is that God will work through this ministry to change lives and draw people to Himself (Eph 3:20-21).
