Auditions

Chara admits new members every fall through a 2-part audition: a dance audition and a short interview.

The dance audition will consist of a ballet, modern, and jazz section, though girls are NOT expected to have had training in all of these styles. The judges just want to get a feel for the potential range of experience, so don’t be intimidated! We also realize that many girls in college weren’t sure if they would continue dancing and may not have brought all their dance clothes. No specific dress code for auditions is enforced; the only requirement is that clothes don’t restrict or hide your range of motion (ie. no jeans please). In the past, girls have worn jazz pants, dance capris & tanks, tights & leotards, work-out clothes, and jazz shoes, ballet shoes, foot paws, socks, or have danced barefoot.

Following the dance audition, individual emails will be sent to the girls containing the results and interview information for those selected to the second phase of auditions. The interview is simply your chance to share your heart for the Lord and why you would like to serve in Chara. Once again, there’s nothing to be nervous about. Emails containing the final results will be sent out again following the interview.
